The Las Vegas High Roller Ferris Wheel

The High Roller Ferris wheel is about 550-foot tall (roughly 167.6 m), while it is also about 520-foot (approximately 158.5 m) in diameter. This is definitely the biggest Ferris wheel in Las Vegas. It is also a fun tourist area for visiting travelers. Every year, families visit this fun spot to experience it firsthand.

This Ferris wheel was opened to the public on the 31st day of March 2014, and currently, it is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. It is about 9 ft. (Approximately 2.7 m) taller than it’s counterparts in other parts of the world.

Design

This High Roller Ferris wheel was established in the early part of August 2011 as the central figure at the Caesars Entertainment Corporation and was worth $550 million. The structural engineers for this design were the Arup Engineers, which were the same engineers that were contracted during the construction of the Singapore Flyer.

Its wheel is designed to rotate on a custom designed pair of a spherical roller with bearings, each having a weight of approximately 19,400 lbs. (which is about 8,800 kg). The bearings have a diameter of about 7.55 feet (which is about 2.30 m), its inner bore is about 5.25 ft. (which is about 1.60 m), and its width is about 2.07 ft. (Or 0.63 m).

Its outer rim has 28 sections, each of about 56 ft. (that is, about 17 m) of length. These were held temporarily by a pair of radial struts of about 275 ft. (which is about 84 m), during its construction, but was later secured permanently by four cables.

It also has different passenger cabins which are situated on the outboard rim wheel. These cabins are rotated individually by electric motors that help to maintain a cabin floor which is horizontal during its rotation. The first designs were made with cabins of 32 passengers, each having a passenger capacity of 40. Its final designs were made to accommodate 28 cabins each with 40 passengers which made it have a total passenger capacity of 1,120 passengers.

During the night hours, the wheels are usually lighted up using a 2,000-LED lighting system that can produce different color sections, single solid colors, and custom display used for holidays and special occasions as well as sets of other multiple colors that move around the rim.

Construction

The construction of this Ferris wheel was scheduled originally to start in early September 2011 and be completed by late 2013, but it was later changed to the first quarter of 2014.

By the 9th day of September 2013, the wheel’s outer rim was already completed. While the cabin and final cabin were consecutively installed in November and December 2013 respectively.

After its testing and setting up of its lighting system, the High Roller was finally opened to the public on the 31st day of March 2014, by 4 p. m.

Fountains Of Bellagio

The Fountains of Bellagio are a popular attraction for both Las Vegas residents and tourists alike. This vast water feature is choreographed in time with lights and music to provide the sort of unique experience that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

These daily performances take place at the Bellagio hotel and there are able to be seen from a number of different vantage points on the Las Vegas strip, as the fountains are visible from both neighborhood structures and the street.

During the afternoon and the earlier parts of the evening, these shows take place every hour. After 8 PM, the fountain shows begin occurring every fifteen minutes, remaining on this schedule until midnight. During the holidays, the same schedule is adhered to, depending on the time of day when the shows are taking place.

Viewers receive a heads up for each performance, as the nozzles that are used in the fountain break through the surface of the water and the lights that are responsible for illuminating the towers of the Bellagio hotel change to a purple hue or a red, white and blue coloration depending on the music that will be played.

While shows typically take place as scheduled, they may be canceled from time to time, due to the presence of high winds. However, there are also shows that are able to occur despite high winds, as they are run with the usage of less power. If there are planned events, the show may be edited for time constraints, as songs are removed as needed.

Fountain Show Songs
There are a wide range of songs used in these performances, including “Your Song”, “Luck Be a Lady”, “Time To Say Goodbye”, “Viva Las Vegas”, “My Heart Will Go On” and “God Bless The USA”. The fountains reside in an eight acre lake that is man made and while urban legend states that used grey water from the hotel that has been treated is used to fill it, it is serviced regularly by a freshwater well.

This freshwater well was drilled several years before the fountain site existed as a means of irrigating a golf course that once operated in the same space. Believe it or not, the golf course was responsible for less usage of water than the current Bellagio fountain show.

How Detailed is It?
In order for the show to as planned, the creators have incorporated a labyrinth piping network of 1,200 nozzles. This makes it possible for the highly coordinated staged displays to take place in a timely manner each day and the aforementioned nozzles are coordinated with 4,500 lights.

The fountains were constructed at an estimated cost of $40 million. WET, a popular design firm that specializes in the creation of inventive fountains and water architecture, created the fountains and they use four different nozzles to create the chosen effects.

16 Extreme Shooters are used to send the water to heights as high as 460 feet, while 192 Super Shooters can blast water to a height of 240 feet. 798 Shooters shoot water in an upward motion and 208 Oarsmen jets give the water a full range of motion.

These fountains exist to prove that choreographed routines are not merely limited to showgirl routines and staged performances. There is a reason why the fountains of Bellagio have become one of Las Vegas’ most commonly visited attractions and these shows are given completely free of charge.

Wow – 30 People are Involved
The complexity of these shows requires a large staff, as there are 30 employees who have been tasked with working seven days a week on various aspects of the performances. Cleaning, maintenance and emergency repairs are all handled by the aforementioned staff members who work 365 days a year to ensure that the fountains are in proper running order and not experiencing any sort of malfunction.

At any given moment during the show, at least 17,000 gallons are in the air. The area that the lake occupies is equivalent to roughly eight football fields or three city blocks. The water that is used to fill the lake would be sufficient for 2,000 swimming pools and if a garden hose were used to fill the lake, the process would take over a year.

The Bellagio is not content to rest on its own laurels, as they continue to add new and interesting innovations to their roster of shows. EDM superstar DJ Tiësto now performs regularly, joining the ranks of past superstars who have also performed at the fountains of Bellagio. He is among illustrious company, as the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson have all performed at the fountains.

Since the array of music that is chosen for these events ranges from genre to genre, visitors often feel as if they have access to their own iPod. For those who actually live and work in the city of Las Vegas, this section of the Las Vegas Boulevard is the premier place to get stuck in the flow of traffic for an extended period of time.

The fountains of the Bellagio provide a sumptuous visual feast for both visitors and locals alike and while it can be difficult to jockey for position, there are no shortage of shows to choose from or places on the Las Vegas strip from which it can be seen. The streams of water dance, spin and shimmy, much to the delight of viewers and they are timed with the cheers of the crowd. Thanks to the number of shows that take place each day, your biggest problem will be deciding how many to take in.

How did the Mandalay Bay come into Existence?

The Luxor and the Excalibur are considered to be Mandalay Bay sister properties and they are connected to the hotel by the Mandalay Bay Tram. Circus Circus Enterprises is responsible for the construction of all three towers and they were already built before the properties were sold to MGM Resorts International.

Circus Circus Enterprises was the original owner of the towers, as they purchased the Hacienda back in 1995. They would then decide to close the Hacienda in December 1996 and implode the structure just in time for New Year’s Eve. From there, the Mandalay Bay building project was then introduced.

Mandalay Bay was given a Hawaiian theme during its earliest incarnation and was originally known as Project Paradise. The owners sank $950 million in the project and finally decided to change the name to Mandalay Bay in early 1998. The name of the hotel was always curious to outside observers, who could not understand why the name was selected, when there are no actual bays in the Burmese city that the structure was named after.

Initial Construction Issues

The tower’s construction was fraught with problems, as engineers would soon discover that vertical movements were taking place and that there were major differences between the movements of the wings and the tower’s core. The core of Mandalay Bay was sinking at a rate of at least a half inch per week and the wings of the tower had begun to sink at an ever slower rate.

These different rates of sinking caused a great deal of differential distortion between each of the structure’s column bays and had these movements not been remedied, horrific structural damage would have taken place. Not only would structural damage have occurred, but the building would have also been placed at serious risk for an eventual collapse.

As a result, Mandalay Bay’s construction was then halted, as the construction team looked for a way to stem the tide. A solution was necessary and construction ceased until one was implemented. The solution? Pin piles (also known as micro piles) were installed. The pin piles were filled with grout and placed 200 feet below the structure.

They were then capped with the use of a hydraulic jack, which allowed the structure to become more stabilized. This provided Mandalay Bay with the stability it needed to carry its estimated weight, while maintaining the desired vertical height.

This solution worked like a charm and since it has been implemented, there have been no further reports about the building sinking or any kind of stability issues. Mandalay Bay opened in 1999 without incident, in a star studded ceremony that included Hollywood luminaries such as Dan Aykroyd, John Goodman and James Belushi.

The men rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles through the front doors in order to celebrate the hotel’s grand opening in March 1999. The hotel’s owners at this time, Circus Circus, would then decide to change their name to the Mandalay Resort Group in July of that same year.

Barrett-Jackson Car Auction Hits Las Vegas This October 2016

Have You Ever Wanted To Go To Vegas AND See A Car Show?

Well now is your chance to do just that. If you have the money, you might even be walking, or rather riding out of it with a new to you car. The Barrett-Jackson Car Auction will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you are a fan of cars, then you will love the showing and action. There is also a pretty fair chance you are going to enjoy the resort and casino as well… But it is best not to tell your spouse about that part of it.

This year the show will take place on October 13th, and 15th. Tickets are already available, as is the schedule for the events. Tickets and other information are easily accessed via the Barret Jackson Car Auction website, as well as pictures of some of the cars you will see at the auction. If you need a little more motivation to get on board for this event, well we know a few things.

Have You Ever Been To A Car Auction Or To Las Vegas?

It really is an experience, to say the least. Between the vintage cars you will see, and possibly by, and the slots, your time will be well spent. The Barrett-Jackson Car Auction is not a new event either. It is a well-respected car auction that even has a spot on television for people to watch around the world. It is something you definitely want to see in person, though. Especially if you are a die-hard fan of cars or vintage cars.

Did we mention Las Vegas? New York City might be the city that never sleeps, but Vegas is where the real action is. Aside from the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction, you also have more casinos and resorts than you can probably count. It may be in the desert, but there are very few better places to relax and have fun.

What Is The Barrett-Jackson Car Auction?

Well if you have been living under a rock for a while, or in a basement, then we happily will explain it to you. It started as a one car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, and grew from there. Barrett and Jackson are the last names of the two men who hosted the original auction and turned it into a respected car auction. The original was hosted all the way back in 1967! Needless to say, that is some history right there. The car auction mostly focuses on sports cars and vintage cars in general. It is definitely worth seeing in person at least once in your life, and it has been since the 1960s.

Pawn Stars: The Story Of A Las Vegas Pawn Shop

How The Vegas Pawn Shop Made TV

Well, being located in Las Vegas certainly did not hurt. After all, the amount of interesting items people own out in Las Vegas is always rather high. The city itself has a lot of history to it, and so items of all kinds that are from there have a lot of history to them as well. This is not to say that items from other places and other countries don’t come in as well because they do, and in large quantities. That, along with the fact that the show itself is very interesting for everything from the personalities of the characters, to the way they handle their business.

How Did It All Start?

Well the pawn shop in question, Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, had been trying to get a reality show to center around the shop for some time since 2001 actually. It had already been featured on TV a few times before the show itself came about in July of 2009. The cast of the show is actually the owners and workers of the Pawn Shop.  Real customers walk through the door every day they shoot for the show. Obviously, the show could have succeeded in 2001 because that is when reality TV shows started getting a leg up, but no one thought then that one centered on a pawn shop would work. How wrong they were.

The Cast

The owners of the shop play a major part in the show, and after watching the Harrison family for just a few minutes, you can see why that is a good thing. They are just such characters themselves. Add Austin Russell or rather “Chumlee” to the mix, and you have a good cast. When their personalities clash it is just one big mix of humor and good entertainment for hours at a time. The Old Man Harrison to the brothers, you’ve got a show alone. One of the factors that makes the show even more interesting, is the unknown cast made up by completely unknown customers that walk through the door every day. Some leave happy, some leave angry, and some leave feeling in the middle.

What Made Pawn Stars So Popular?

Honestly, we did not even have to ask this question, but some still wonder. The people that wonder are the same people who have never visited a pawn shop in their entire lives. Going to thrift shops, pawn shops and yard sales is something that a lot of people love to do. Why? Well to find interesting things! You never know what you might find at a pawn shop, which is completely unlike going to a large retailer. When you got to a regular store, you know what you’re going to see for the most part. Now if you combine the “What Is That” factor with the personalities in the cast, you have a very interesting show to watch.

There Is Always Drama

Whether it be someone wanting more money than the cast is willing to offer or seeing someone being hauled off the premises for not following the rules of the pawn shop, there is always something happening. Most of it is dramatic to an extent, but not to an extreme drama level. That is actually another thing that reels people into watching the show. It has just the right about of drama and entertainment. It is not over the top yet not boring either. Actually, it is far from boring, or dull. There are twelve seasons of the show, and some people will watch all of them over just a week’s period.

The Real Life Drama

There has been a bit of the news about Pawn Stars, and not all of it was positive. In 2012 a former part of the show overall sued the cast and their manager for failure to receive royalties and other payments he was supposed to get from the show. His role in the show had been slowly reduced over time until he was fired but the contracts did not expire because he was fired, so he actually had a case. More recently, Chumlee was arrested in 2016 for drug possession and other charges. This was a big downfall for the rising star as he was considered the breakout star of the show. An unknown that becomes very popular and well liked.

Twelve Seasons And Counting

None of that has affected the show itself terribly, though, as ratings have not really gone down that much since their highest in 2011. Some will say that the show is losing steam, but if it is, the show isn’t losing it very quickly. So if you like Pawn Stars, chances are that you are going to get a least another couple of seasons out of the deal. It is not hard to understand why either. The show has had plenty of celebrity cameos over the years. Even Bob Dylan made a cameo on the show.

Pawn Stars In Recap

For a reality TV series about a pawn shop, this one actually is pretty decent to watch on an otherwise boring afternoon. You certainly will not feel as if you just wasted thirty minutes to an hour of your time afterward. You are not the one visiting the pawn shop in person, so you have nothing to lose by watching it at least once. I would say it’s worth a try.

Las Vegas Hotels That Have Been Blown Up And Torn Down

Las Vegas, Nickname “city of light,” “the gambling capital of the world,” “the entertainment capital of the universe,” “the capital of second chance and happenings,” etc. is the most populous city in Nevada. Internationally recognized for its major resorts within which activities like gambling, fine dining, nightlife and shopping were enormously concentrated. In southern Nevada, Las Vegas is found to be the leading financial, commercial and cultural center of the region adding to their revenue and economy. Its mega casino hotels and associated entertainment hubs have marked the city as one of the top leading most visited areas in the United States for conventions and business meetings.

Las Vegas is a large urban settlement which has got more five star established hotels than any other city in the world, making Las Vegas count as one of the top tourist locations in the world and a worldwide leader in the hosting, lodging and entertainment industry.

Demolishing to Pave Way for New Mega Resorts

Las Vegas has a long history of building giant hotels and getting them demolished for a more profitable mega-resort to be constructed. Some of Las Vegas hotels that have been turned down and demolished for a larger mega-resort include the Desert Inn Hotel which made way for the Venetian and Palazzo Las Vegas and the MGM resort, the old Dunes Hotel was also imploded to make way for the Bellagio. Land on the Las Vegas strip is found so economically valuable that destroying an old hotel to make way for a new one makes more sense than building off-strip on underdeveloped sites.

It has been years since the last resort was demolished for a new resort to be built. The slowdowns happened due to the great global economic recession in 2008.  In recession denied most financial communities including Las Vegas sustainable ability to get on and embark on investment projects. As of recent, in the midst of recovery, Las Vegas demolition crews have commenced again their activities of getting hotels blown up.  This is turning the skylines of Las Vegas dusty with the cloud of smoke that follows the demolition.

Why Blow them Up?

Before an organization embarks on its Las Vegas hotel or casino demolition, one thing they put first in consideration is money, that is finance and revenue. The potential profit from a prospective yet un-constructed casino has to be larger than the cash flows of the existing casino awaiting demolishment decision. For example, the MGM isn’t going to displace the Las Vegas Bellagio, since the Bellagio presently poses a lucrative estimate of $1.25 billion in revenue, $409 million in EBITDA, and a promising future prospect to add. Hence it won’t make sense to build a resort that would cost billions of dollars in construction, only to generate a small amount of cash flow from its return when viewed from the financial angle of it.

But across the street of the Bellagio exists a better option. There lies a group of properties that would make a great site for a Las Vegas mega resort innovation. Here we find the Flamingo‘s, the Cromwell, the LINQ hotel and the Herrare Las Vegas hotel which are some of the worst properties in the area to be improved on.

Hotel blowing up and turning down has being a regular exercise of the Las Vegas metropolis. Some hotels include the Desert Inn hotel casino which disappeared in seconds during its implosion on November 2004.

Another is the North Hotel at Dunes which was imploded in 1993 and replaced by the Las Vegas Bellagio. In 2007, Stardust and the New Frontier resort were also reduced to rubble by explosives. In addition, of all the mob casinos, only the Tropicana and the Flamingos remain in business, after the Dunes Sand, Desert Inn and Stardust which supposedly were under control of the mobs were gone.

Another hotel which was demolished is the Landmark Hotel which was displaced by a parking lot having aged 32 years. The hotel was built in 1963, but didn’t open until 1969. These remarkable building by the Jetsons-esque architecture stood tall and proud and was loved in the community. In 1995, it became the second major property to be imploded. This is because the Landmark was old, in bad repair and unpopular and since the Las Vegas convention center needed more parking space, The Landmark Hotel had to go ka-boom for a 22-acre plot surface parking lot to be placed. This parking lot is becoming more valuable as time goes on, which means there are no immediate plans for developing the site.

In, the Hacienda, a hotel of about 300 rooms and 11 stories was opened at the far south of the Las Vegas strip long before the successful Luxor and Excalibur in 1990, which were situated around it. But since the Hacienda hotel seemed isolated at the location and didn’t enhance development at the area, it had to be imploded to make way for Mandalay bay resort. This implosion which happened at New Year eve of 1996 was after the owners of Hacienda’s neighboring and more lucrative hotels Luxor and Excalibur had bought Hacienda from its owners.

Aladdin hotel from its beginning seemed to be doomed for failure, and at that time was called “the Vegas jinx With its history of many owners, name changes, remodels, openings, closings,  and mob dealings, it was closed down forever in 1998, after 26 years. It was imploded , 1998 at about 7 p.m., leaving only the performing art center saved in the demolished Aladdin building, giving way to the construction of the latter known Planet Hollywood mega resort.

Presently, Las Vegas gets ready to demolish the famed Riviera Hotel casino. This hotel was among the first to be opened along the Las Vegas Boulevard and for decades it has hosted many Hollywood celebrities and has been a site for film shots also since the 60s. This once famous 14 story Monaco tower resort along the Las Vegas strip is about to come tumbling down, vanishing within minutes after being imploded as scheduled. The Riviera hotel being closed for a year has its owners the Las Vegas convention and visitors authority, spend about $42 million to get it destroyed after a 60-year run on the northern end of the strip. One other tower which is expected to get demolished soon is the Monte Carlo hotel casino resort, whose demolition has been scheduled to somewhere around.

Las Vegas Hotel Opening Dates and Trivia

Listed below are the top Las Vegas Hotels, when they were founded, size, theme, history of their names and trivia for each.

Bally’s Las Vegas
Originally opened in 1973, did you know that Bally’s was perviously known as the MGM Grand Hotel.  In 1986 it was sold to Bally Manufacturing.  The name MGM Grand was then moved to the Marina Hotel.  What a history.  Later in 1995 Hilton bought it and It was renovated in 2004 and 2014, not long ago.  With over 2,000 rooms you should be able to find one.

Caesars Palace
Caesars opened in 1966.  One great classic, the 1966 Mustang, deserves another in Caesars palace. They are not related but I like the coincidence.  This is quite a hotel having almost 4,000 rooms and an excellent venue for conventions with over 300,000 square feet available.  There is also a 4,296 seat venue for concerts.  Caesars is huge, a AAA Four Diamond (remember Ocean’s Eleven) hotel and it never disappoints.

Flamingo Las Vegas
To me the Flamingo has the feel of old Vegas, having opened in 1946.  The art deco theme and live flamingos cannot be beat.  This was the hotel that started in 1945 and was “taken over” by Bugsy Siegel that same year.  You can see a memorial to Bugsy there today.  Fast forward to 2016 and Donny and Marie Osmond headline there in an old vegas feel room with tables and booths.  Enjoy old Vegas and new in one establishment.

Harrah’s Las Vegas
Harrah’s was established in 1973 as the Holiday Casino and changed it’s name in 1992.  It used to have a Riverboat theme and now it has a Mardi Gras and Carnival theme.  The latest renovation was 1997 and it has over 2,600 rooms.  If you are looking for a New Orleans vacation why not take one in Vegas?

The Linq
Last renovated in 2014 it has gone through a number of names.  You may recall some of the prior names as they originally started as the Flamingo Capri in 1959.  Later it was the Imperial Palace, most recently The Quad and now The Linq.  The renovation in 2014 cost $223 million, this is one you will definitely want to check out with a quarter billion invested in 2,640 rooms it is quite impressive.  If you love classic cars take a look at the collection they have, over 250 cars in 125,000 square feet of space.  I have taken the tour and loved it, then again I love cars.

The Palazzo
The stores at the Palazzo, known as the Shoppes, are amazing. An entire mall with incredible stores inside the hotel.  Not only does it have 3,068 rooms and is one of the most elegant hotels on the strip, but it also has incredible restaurants.  Emeril’s Table 10 is among the long list of notable restaurants.  As a car lover I have to recommend you visit the Lamborghini dealership at the Palazzo as well.  The Palazzo is one of the youngest Vegas hotels which was opened in 2007 at a cost of $1.8 billion and honestly it looks like it should have cost more.  It is breath taking.

Paris Las Vegas
Having the Eiffel Tower replica which is one have the size of the real one, makes you feel like you are indeed in Paris. The Paris is true to it’s name.  Having just shy of 3,000 rooms it was opened in 1999.  It is much younger than many believe.  The last renovation was in 2011 and it has the very popular and permanent show “Jersey Boys”. You can easily move between Paris and Bally’s through the promenade.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas
This hotel has been on the strip since 1963?  That’s right, and here is how.It opened in 1963 as Tally-Ho and within a year was changed to the King’s Crown (don’t ask), then became The Aladdin. After The Aladdin it became the New Aladdin, I’m not kidding it did not have a name change other than adding the word “New”.  More trivia, it was sold in 2003 because it went bankrupt, to Planet Hollywood and Starwood Hotels together.  So in 2007 it became Planet Hollywood and in 2009, missed some payments and Starwood sold to Caesars.  Confused yet?  Wait there is more, the Planet Hollywood restaurant is not in the Planet Hollywood hotel, it is at Caesars.  Stump your friends with that one.

Rio Las Vegas
Looking for a Brazilian theme?  You found it at the Rio.  It was renovated as recent as 2007 and has over 2,500 rooms.  It is a young hotel having opened in 1990.  Most notable is the Penn & Teller permanent show and Guy Fieri’s El Burro Borracho restaurant. If you love poker the World Series of Poker has been held every year since 2005 at the Rio.  A little trivia for the Rio, it has a wine cellar with over 50,000 bottles of wine.  If every room in the hotel drinks a bottle a day, they will be empty in 20 days, not sure why I know that.

Tropicana Las Vegas
This is my favorite name, there is something old Vegas about the name Tropicana.  And they should wear it proudly as it has never changed it’s name since it opened in 1957 (along with the ever popular ’57 Chevy, no relationship of course).  Although it has been renovated a couple times, most recently in 2011, it is definitely one you need to stay at and visit to feel that old world charm with modern day conveniences.

Venetian Las Vegas
The Venetian opened in 1999 and has over 4,000 rooms and over 120,000 square feet. Another Ocean’s Eleven reference, as this is a five-diamond luxury hotel. That is the highest award of the AAA Diamond rating system.  The Venetian Las Vegas is a sister hotel to The Venetian Macao (the largest casino in the world).  The design is based on Venice Italy.  Some Venetian trivia, it cost $1.5 billion and in 2011 opened the first 24 hour a day sports book.

A Review Of Our Favorite 5 Las Vegas Magic Shows

If you are taking a trip to Vegas, then I suggest you check out some Las Vegas shows. The city is blessed with a lot of entertainment. It is where you can find some the hottest magic shows. A lot of these magic shows happen in Las Vegas hotels. From David Copperfield, Mac King, to Criss Angel, and Penn & Teller, I have compiled a review of some of the best magic shows in Las Vegas. See the reviews below.

Las Vegas Magic Show Reviews

1. Penn and Teller

penn tellerPenn and Teller offer a show that is both fun and baffling. It is definitely a must see show when visiting Las Vegas. Edgy and challenging, Penn and Teller have been able to make magic look cool, even for people who may not love the art of magic. The act is packed full with contrasts. Penn is really tall, and Teller appears short in comparison. Penn is bombastic and loud (he does the talking) while Teller remains silent.
